Review

1. When did Christ come?

2. What did He do for us?

3. How did God show His love?

Reflect

Satan wants God’s people to live in fear and shame, to believe the accusation that they’re too far gone, and to believe the lie that God doesn’t want to be near them. The weapon against Satan’s attacks is the truth of God’s Word, which says that Christ died for sinners. He didn’t die for people who’d already cleaned up their act or those who only sinned in certain ways. He died for everyone, and He died because no one can clean themselves up on their own.

Jesus joyfully entered our broken, hurting world. He experienced the same pain and suffering as us while He was fully God and fully human. And He isn’t surprised when we still struggle to follow Him. He saved us once and for all through His death and resurrection, but His saving power continues to work in us every day.

God understands the temptations, lies, and accusations you face, and He loves you the same on the days you successfully fight back as on the days you make mistakes. Draw near to the Lord; He knows you, and He has come to save you.

Respond

How do you react to reading that God loves you the same each day, no matter what you do? Do you find it easy or difficult to believe He wants to draw near to you, and why? Spend some time in prayer thanking Him for sending Jesus into our brokenness. Ask Him to show you more of His love and saving power as you fight against Satan’s attacks.
