A prophet without honor.

Series: The Gospel of Luke: Settled in Spirit | Week 2: Offended by Grace

Read Luke 4:22-30
Discover
1. How do people initially respond to Jesus? Why did Jesus feel they weren’t accepting Him?
2. What does Jesus say that makes the people in the synagogue so angry? (Make sure to read Days 4 and 5 for a further explanation of the 2 stories Jesus references here).
3. How is God’s provision evident in Jesus’s life by the way He escapes the angry crowd?

Respond
1. Have you been like the people in Nazareth and dismissed or ignored people you are familiar with? Ask God to remove any prejudice you may have toward people closest to you and to give you ears to hear anything He might want to say through them.
2. Maybe you have felt like Jesus – dismissed or even hated for speaking truth into someone’s life. Spend a few minutes thanking Jesus that He can identify and ask for His strength to continue to extend truth and grace to everyone.
