Reflect
This world is full of deception and evil. It can be easy to allow that to intimidate us. But John reminds us that the Spirit of truth overrides the spirit of deception. We belong to God, and His Spirit lives inside us. This not only gives us the ability to recognize deception; it gives us the power to overcome.

As a believer, we have to stay alert and let the Spirit of truth guide us. We have to be aware of Satan’s tactics. He’s a ninja at deception, counterfeiting anything that God creates and urging us to exchange the real thing for fake. Instead of worshipping the true God of heaven, Satan urges us to worship this world. Where God creates revival, Satan counterfeits with confusion and chaos. God calls us to repentance; Satan counterfeits with tolerance, normalizing the idea that there’s nothing to repent of.

Are there any areas of your life where you’ve allowed Satan’s counterfeits to override truth? What can you do to stay more alert and let the Spirit of truth guide you every day?
