  1. Some might say the Christmas story is far fetched, and given the strange details and circumstances, they’d have good reason. If God really is God, and he can do anything he wants in any way he chooses—why do you think God chose to make his entrance this way?

  2. Apply question 1 to your life: if God has the power to change things, if he could intervene and keep horrible things from happening, then why doesn’t he? Or, does he?

  3. Read Hebrews 4:15-16. Have you experienced a God who understands and empathizes with you? What hope can you find in these verses? Consider how they relate to Isaiah 7:14.
