You are what you think.

Series: Screen Time | Week 3: Digital Disciples

Romans 12:1-2
“And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all He has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind He will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship Him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”

The heart of these verses is an encouragement to pay attention to what’s going on inside your mind. Pay attention to what you choose to think about and to how those thoughts influence your mood, disposition, and overall emotions. The life you live is a direct reflection of the thoughts that you think. Your life is always moving in the direction of your strongest thoughts and your strongest thoughts are influenced by what you’re exposed to the most.

Respond

1. Come up with a plan to spend just a few minutes each day engaging with your Bible so that the truth of it can start to shape your thoughts.
2. Ask God to begin to transform you as you do this.
