We were made to worship.
I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak his praises. I will boast only in the Lord; let all who are helpless take heart. Come, let us tell of the Lord’s greatness; let us exalt his name together.
The definition of worship is to love, show admiration, or affection. That’s all it is. It’s a response to something we value the most. It reveals what we already adore. We are already worshiping something or someone. We are wired to praise what we love. If we’re not careful, we can give authentic worship everywhere else but to the only One who’s deserving of it.
Think about the things you worship. Where do you spend your money, time, and energy? In what settings are you most animated? Spend some time talking these things over with your Heavenly Father and in your group this week. Make God the sole object of your worship today. Pray for each other in your group.
