They were cleansed.
As Jesus continued on toward Jerusalem, he reached the border between Galilee and Samaria. As he entered a village there, ten men with leprosy stood at a distance, crying out, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” He looked at them and said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed of their leprosy.
The ten men were outsiders; having leprosy meant that they were cast out from society. They cried out to Jesus for help, because despite being outsiders, they believed in the help only Jesus can provide. Jesus cleansed them of their leprosy, a disease that was often a death sentence, and gave them a lot to be thankful for.
Thankfulness is what helps us maximize every single moment in life…even the difficult ones. If you’re facing a difficult situation today, you can trust in Jesus and the help that only He can provide. Today, ask Him for help in expressing gratitude to Jesus and to others, too. This week, write down three things each day that you are thankful for—watch how it begins to transform you!
