Philippians 2:4
“Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.”
Paul doesn’t tell you not to look out for your own interests, but to not only look out for your own interests. Humility isn’t self-deprecation or thinking less of yourself. Humility is thinking of yourself less. Genuine humility takes an interest in others. It’s about the posture of your heart toward God and others.

1. Serving others not only helps you carry out the mission of Jesus, but it reminds you it’s not about you! Pause for a moment now and ask God how He might be asking you to serve as a way to think about yourself less and take an interest in others.
2. Pray a bold prayer and ask God to show you your brokenness and sinfulness in light of His holiness. Thank Him that He sent Jesus to die for that sin! Ask Him to change the posture of your heart in light of that brokenness and redemption.
