Philippians 4:6-7

1. How are worry and anxiety great robbers of joy? What are we commanded to do instead of worry?
2. How does thanking God shift our focus away from worry?
3. How is the peace that comes from God described here?

Respond
1. What are you currently worrying about? Take a minute now to do exactly what this verse commands – turn it over to God, tell Him what you need, thank Him for all the blessings He has given you and for the He concern He has for every area of your life.
2. Thank God for the promise of His peace when we pray and turn things over to Him. Today, if you find yourself beginning to worry, let it serve as a reminder to pray. And then envision the peace of God acting as a guard, keeping watch over your heart and mind.

For Families with Kids at Home
Look for an opportunity today to talk to your kids about what they are worried about. Allow them to share and instead of trying to problem solve it, pray for them immediately and the worries they have. After you pray for them, share some of your worries and tell them how God is working through them.
