The faithfulness of God.

Series: Resilient | Week 2: Still Standing

Genesis 39:19-23
“Potiphar was furious when he heard his wife’s story about how Joseph had treated her. So he took Joseph and threw him into the prison where the king’s prisoners were held, and there he remained. But the Lord was with Joseph in the prison and showed him His faithful love. And the Lord made Joseph a favorite with the prison warden. . . The Lord was with him and caused everything he did to succeed.”

If you’re noticing a theme in Joseph’s life, that’s good because here’s what we continue to see – the LORD was with Joseph, granting him favor in the eyes of man and causing all the seemingly bad things in his life to work for good. God was faithful to Joseph and He’s faithful to you.

Respond in Prayer
If you find yourself wondering if God is faithful to you, too, remember – evidence of His faithfulness isn’t found in your circumstances or even in your own faithfulness to Him, but in who God is. Spend some time praising God for the faithfulness that He has shown to human beings throughout history. See this document if you need some help finding the faithfulness of God displayed throughout Scripture. Ask Him for the ability to see past your circumstances to His faithfulness.

For Families with Kids at Home
Today, spend time asking God to help your kids know and experience his faithfulness no matter what their circumstances are. When they feel down or sad, remind your kids that God is faithful no matter what we’re going through, and we can trust him always.
