Week 3: Descend into Greatness

Day 2

Matthew 11:2-3
John the Baptist, who was in prison, heard about all the things the Messiah was doing. So he sent his disciples to ask Jesus, “Are you the Messiah we’ve been expecting, or should we keep looking for someone else?”

John the Baptist was a giant of the faith. But after a very successful life and ministry of introducing people to Jesus, he finds himself languishing in prison and having a crisis of faith. He’s beginning to have doubts. Nothing was turning out like he planned and he sends his friends to ask Jesus if He really is the Messiah, the one he had preached about and pointed people to with absolute certainty.

If you're in a place today where you feel like you’re all alone, questioning everything and thinking this is NOT how your life was supposed to turn out, you aren’t alone. John, the greatest to ever live according to Jesus, can identify with you. Follow his example and take your doubts and questions to Jesus, because only your Creator can tell you what you were created for.
