Philippians 4:8-9
“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.”

1. How does Paul address the importance of our thought life in these verses?
2. What ‘things’ would match the criteria he lays out? Make a list!
3. Why is it important that we not just know what God wants us to do, but that we actually put it into practice?

Respond
1. Give some thought now to the things you put into your mind through television, books, social media, music, the internet, conversations with others. . .hold them up in comparison to the adjectives Paul uses here. Talk to God about any changes He may be asking you to make in this area.
2. God places great value on His children putting His commands into practice. Ask God for the strength to continue to put His Word into practice in your life.
