Permission to land.

Series: The Way Back | Week 2: From Anxiety

Luke 1:38
Mary responded, “I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.” And then the angel left her.

Mary moves from her confusion and anxiety-filled question to calm obedience of what the angel has just told her. How did she do it? Mary was a wonderful person, but she was still human like us. Did she all of the sudden get more faith? Pray really hard to make the anxiety go away? Simply put, Mary probably took the thoughts of confusion, fear, and anxiety that were circling and didn’t give them permission to land. Anxiety may feel more like a pit you are stuck in with no way out, but in reality it’s more like a tunnel in which there is a way out.

What thoughts of confusion, fear, and anxiety are circling in your mind? Sometimes, it seems like anxiety is a pit with no way out. Really, it is more of a tunnel with a light at the end, Thank God that, through the incarnation, the birth of Jesus, He provided a way out of your tunnel.
