Our faith isn't meant to be private.
Proverbs 18:1 (ESV)
Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all sound judgment.
Hebrews 10:25 (NLT)
And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another…
There are all kinds of reasons we settle for living in isolation. Pride, fear, proximity or busyness are among those reasons. Even hurt, abandonment or embarrassment can lend itself to living a life of isolation.
Yet one of Satan’s greatest schemes in your life will be to convince you that you’re protecting yourself from hurt, when you’re really cutting yourself off from God’s primary instrument of healing.
Our faith is certainly personal, but it was never meant to be private. Don't give up. Don't isolate. If you're in a group, let them in on what's really going on in your life. Get real with them. If you're not in a group, pray today and ask God to put someone in your life this week, someone you can encourage and who can encourage you back!
