Nothing can separate us.

Series: Screen Time | Week 1: Glowing Rectangles

Romans 8:35, 38-39

Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?

I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Let the truth of these verses sink it for a minute as you re-read them slowly. What in your life has ever made you feel separated from God’s love? The truth is that the love God has for you is stronger than any of those things. Renewing our minds means we start filling it with the truth of God’s Word to us. As we do that, we begin to know God more, love Him more, and we can begin to offer our lives to Him to use for His glory and purpose in the world.

Pause for a minute to thank God for His great love for you. Thank Him that absolutely nothing can separate you from it! In view of that love, offer yourself to Him for His perfect will in your life.
