Love your neighbor as yourself.

Week 2: The Impossible

Day 1

Luke 10:25-29
One day an expert in religious law stood up to test Jesus by asking him this question: “Teacher, what should I do to inherit eternal life?”
Jesus replied, “What does the law of Moses say? How do you read it?”
The man answered, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
“Right!” Jesus told him. “Do this and you will live!”
The man wanted to justify his actions, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

The message Jesus came to bring is found over and over again in The Impossible. It’s a message of love.

The Impossible’s story shows us what it looks like to love one another, even in the hardest of times, and even when the other person can’t offer you anything. A love that meets people in their deepest moments of need, putting others first.
It’s not always easy to love your neighbor as yourself, but today, you can ask God for the desire to love God with your whole heart, soul, strength and mind so that you can show the kind of love to others as Jesus loves us. Jesus loves everyone, and never leaves us, even in the worst days and our heaviest storms. Have your group pray for God’s help in showing this kind of love to others!
