Lay low or lean in.
The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you. Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do. For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of the Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.
When it comes to spiritual posture, you can only either lay low or lean in.
There are some areas of your life right now where you need to lean in. God is trying to do some things in you, but you have resisted it. He wants to work through you, but that requires you to lean in.
The goal of grace isn’t “me,” but becoming the “me” that God intended me to be. And that’s why you should be led by the Holy Spirit. It’s the only way to become the best version of you, the you God intended you to be.
The purpose of your life is to make an eternal difference in the lives of others!
Today, instead of laying low and doing things your own way, obligating yourself to your sinful nature, choose to lean in, obeying the promptings of the Holy Spirit:
Lean in to your marriage.
Lean in to your children.
Lean in to your relationships.
Lean in to your spiritual growth.
Lean in to your personal disciplines.
Lean in to our mission/vision as a church.
Through this series, Aaron encouraged us to read Romans 5-8. Read it as God's personal letter to you!
