Knowing God leads to trusting in Him.

Series: Waymaker | Week 1: Miracle Worker

Psalm 9:9-10
“The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, O Lord, do not abandon those who search for you.”

The only way out of a storm is to know God—to have a deeper understanding of who He is. Just as you or I may be known by many different names, God also has many names all throughout Scripture. Each name describes a different attribute of God’s character and knowing Him by His many names helps us know Him more intimately and fully. Truly knowing God deepens our trust in Him.

Respond in Prayer
Thank God that He wants to have a relationship with you. Praise Him that He knows you deeply, intimately and fully and He wants you to know Him, too! Set aside some time each day to seek Him in your Bible. You can check out a men's reading plan or a women's reading plan about the many names of God. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you as you do. Ask Him to give you a deeper understanding of His character and attributes.

For Families with Kids at Home
Confess to God what feels hard right now about parenting your kids, no matter their age or stage. When you find yourself getting stressed, ask the Holy Spirit to help you. When you feel overwhelmed, run to God, who is a refuge. As you do this, you’ll model for your kids what it’s like to depend on the Holy Spirit for everything you need.
