The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him.
1 Chronicles 29:14
But who am I, and who are my people, that we could give anything to you? Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us!
It’s easy to buy into the myth “it’s all mine," when the truth of the matter is “it’s all God’s.” Everything on this earth belongs to God and everything we have comes from Him. God owns it, and He’s entrusted us to manage it. The money He gives us, the people He places in our lives, our bodies, and our worldly possessions--they are all God’s resources that He gives us for our enjoyment and to manage.
Think about all the resources that God has given you. Make a list if it’s helpful. Where might you be buying into the myth that these things are yours, instead of God’s? How can you begin to transition your thinking and start to be a better steward of God’s gifts to you?
