Ephesians 2:4-5
But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)
God’s grace is the essence of the gospel message and it’s the reason behind everything we do as Christ followers at Traders Point. Grace as an acronym can be described as God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense. We were sinful at birth, completely powerless to restore a relationship with a holy, sinless God. But God, because of His deep love for us, made a way for that to happen. He did it through the person and work of His only Son, Jesus. He lived a perfect life on Earth, died the death we all deserve, and three days later, rose from the dead. Jesus conquered death once and for all. It was a lavish gift, one we did nothing to deserve, and it cost God dearly.
If you haven't made the decision to trust Jesus with your life, you can make the best decision you’ll ever make and do that now. Admit your sin, thank God for the lavish gift of grace He offers, and turn the reigns of your life over to Him as your Savior and your Lord. If you’ve made this decision today, tell someone! Most likely you have someone in your life who has encouraged you, invited you, or been praying for you—tell them the good news! If you consider yourself a follower of Jesus, what will you do with this gift in 2020? Make Jesus Lord of an area of your life you haven’t surrendered yet? Start praying for an opportunity to share this gift with others who need it? Take a few minutes to ask God what He wants you to do with it and pray for His strength to follow through. It’s a great time to start.
