God of Color.
Revelation 4:3, 5-6
The one sitting on the throne was as brilliant as gemstones—like jasper and carnelian. And the glow of an emerald circled his throne like a rainbow. From the throne came flashes of lightning and the rumble of thunder. And in front of the throne were seven torches with burning flames... In front of the throne was a shiny sea of glass, sparkling like crystal.
The throne room of God is a brilliant display of color, light, and noise! Jasper is a clear stone, like a diamond. It represents the purity and holiness of God. Carnelian is a red stone, like a ruby, that represents the judgment of God. The rainbow encircling his throne is representative of a God who keeps His promises. And the sea of glass represents a God who is in control and approachable.
Imagine this scene in your mind. Walk into the throne room of God and picture the colors, the sounds, the sea of glass. What feelings and emotions does this evoke in you? How do you need to respond? Approach Him? Bow down in worship? Confess something in the presence of his purity and holiness?
