John 13:15-17
“I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you. I tell you the truth, slaves are not greater than their master. Nor is the messenger more important than the one who sends the message. Now that you know these things, God will bless you for doing them.”
The biggest separating factor between God’s kingdom and everything else is right here: God is willing to do for you. Not ‘do this and you can get to me’ or ‘do this and get a reward.’ God went first in everything: loving us, serving us, all the way to laying down His life for us.
Jesus conquered the grave but we still need to die to ourselves every day. Twice in these verses Jesus tells us to ‘do’. Share in your groups this week what you think God is asking you to DO to die to yourself each day and follow the example He left us to serve and love others well.
