Fear of failure.

Series: The Way Back | Week 1: From Fear

Luke 1:34-35, 37-38
Mary asked the angel, “But how can this happen? I am a virgin.”
The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the baby to be born will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God.
For the word of God will never fail.”
Mary responded, “I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.” And then the angel left her.

The message Gabriel brought Mary would have changed her life. Every picture, every dream and every expectation of what she thought her life would look like is turned upside-down. Despite the fear this likely induced in Mary, her response is remarkable – ‘I am the Lord’s servant. Let it be as you say, Gabriel.’ God chose to bring His holy Savior into the world in the most unlikely of ways – as a baby, born to a virgin. Mary’s fear is replaced with her obedience, with her confidence in who she is as a favored servant of God.

Do you have a fear of failure? Ask God to help you replace your fear of failure with simple obedience to living out His will for your life and recognizing your standing with Him, His favor on you has the power to wipe away every fear.
