Eyes up and on God.

Series: Worship Your Way Through It | Week 1: Worship Your Way Through It

Psalm 121
“I look up to the mountains— does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth! He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps. The Lord himself watches over you! The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night. The Lord keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.”

Psalms 120-134 are known as The Psalms or Songs of Ascent. The Jewish nation would have sang them in order as they headed up to Jerusalem for the annual feasts three times a year. Like these pilgrims, we want to be a church that does not worry our way through anything; we want to be a church that worships our way through everything. We are a church that gets our eyes up and focused on Him.

Respond in prayer today: Lord, I praise You as my creator, my protector, and my keeper through all things. Remind me, especially in the midst of fear and confusion, of how big and great You really are! Thank you for always watching over me, day and night, for keeping me safe as I come and go. Help me to get my eyes up and on You in worship today.
