Come clean.

Series: Summer in the Psalms | Week 2: Fully Known and Fully Loved

Psalm 139:1-7
O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord. You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand! I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence!

All of us are experts at managing how people see us: we hide, manipulate, and control what is known about us. However, this Psalm reveals that God sees everything we do and knows our every thought. This can be a scary AND embarrassing truth!

Yet, these verses are an invitation to authenticity with God, a call to come clean before we are found out. God already knows us completely and graciously invites us to come to Him.

Today, ask God to help you stop avoiding or spinning the truth and come to Him authentically.

As you meet with your group this week, share your reaction to God’s call to authenticity with Him and ask for prayer and support to come clean with Him.
