|
Phil began attending TPCC 20 years ago. He has served as a Deacon, Elder, and teacher of both children and adults. In his current position, he oversees the Pastoral Counseling Ministry, as well as the Age Levels Ministry Department.
Family: Wife: Mary Jo; Children: Mary Kay, Phillip, and Charla; Sons-in-law: Tracy Dobbs and Scott Wolfe; Grandchildren: Kelly, Christopher, Kayla, Sophie, Cole, and Tessa
Hometown: Albany, GA
Educational Background: Graduate of NW High School; Associates Degree in Accounting (who knew this?)
Hobbies: Spending time with family... nothing else he enjoys better
Best part about his job: It mixes all the great things about church... it mixes edification and evangelism. "But in my case... the non-believers come to me. The most exciting thing is to see when the light comes on in a kid's spiritual life. To be a part of that and to know that it's God who's doing that... you truly know that God is working."
Interesting things to know about Phil:
- He played the trumpet for about 12 years, including playing in Footlight musicals
- He was in masonry for 25 years
- His sixth grade math teacher spanked him at least once a week and signed his yearbook: "Good luck to motor-mouth"
