The mission of the Special Needs Ministry is to reach families of special needs children and adults with the compassion of Christian fellowship, providing loving support and a safe environment, for nurturing a growing knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
“But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteousness.” — Luke 14:13-14
“The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” — 1 Samuel 16:7b
The Special Needs Ministry provides the following services to special needs individuals and their families:
Buddy System
The Buddy System is
a way of including special needs children in the life of our church. These children are paired up with a buddy who assists them during their Sunday school class. This system not only benefits the special needs child (often times being the only vehicle by which he or she may attend class and learn about our loving God); and it enables the parents and siblings of the special needs child to also attend their own Sunday school class and/or worship service.

"Wings to Fly" Activities:
Parents’ Night Out
To meet this number one need of special needs families, the Special Needs Ministry sponsors bi-monthly Parents’ night out. While parents enjoy a much needed break – to help strengthen their marriage, enjoy friends, or simply run errands – their special needs child (age 1-18) and his or her siblings will enjoy a simple meal, devotional time, praise and worship time, and lots of fun! Buddies are provided for each special needs child.

If you are a parent of a

Ministry invites you to a fun-filled evening at the
church on Saturday, November 14, from 4:30 to 8 p.m.
This Parents’ Night Out will include lots of fun
activities for your child with special needs and
their siblings. If your family would like to
participate in this event, contact Lisa Hurtubise at
hurtubise@indy.rr.com or 873.5009 by

Sonshine Room
This is
a room for those special needs individuals who are not able to participate in the regular Sunday school program because of the severity of their special need or due to heightened sensitivity to sounds, or for any other reason. They will enjoy one-on-one attention as they are being taught about the love of Christ and cared for otherwise while the rest of their family is free to attend the worship service and/or Sunday school.
