Amplifying the worship experience

The Production Arts Team serves the worship team and the church by faithfully amplifying the worship experience both sonically and visually.  Our goal is to accurately reproduce the artistic expression and message of the pastoral staff and worship team as they engage the congregation and compel them to respond in worship of our awesome God.  We do this by using the latest in audio, lighting, media, and visual technology working hard to focus the attention on the message - not the medium. Although made up of several extremely different technical disciplines, we're still one team with a simple goal – to create an engaging, authentic worship environment.

If you’re interested in technology and how it can be used to serve the church as it worships God, we’d love to talk with you. Production and technical experience is great, musical background or simply a love for music is incredibly helpful, and although prior experience is necessary for some positions on this team, it’s not required for all of them. We are also committed to training team members, improving their skill level to serve more passionately, and to eventually train others with confidence.

Production Arts Team Positions:

Audio Engineer
The Audio Engineer is responsible for the “mix” of instruments and vocals that you hear as well as the individual mixes that each vocalist and musician hears as they participate in worship services and special events. Experience in mixing is a prerequisite for this team. Also necessary are the ability to work under pressure, the ability to hear detail without losing the “big picture,” and the ability to troubleshoot. Should you have a musical background, even better.

Lighting Designer
LD’s design lighting scenes for worship and special events, program and operate the  lighting board during services, and often particpate in hanging and focusing fixtures. The system is made up of conventional and moving fixtures and is controlled by an ETC Congo Jr. lighting board. An eye for design and the ability to think systematically are necessary.

Camera Operator
This group operates live studio cameras during services and special events. Camera shots are directed by the Video Technical Director who “switches” between cameras and media during services. The ability to focus, take direction, and sit quietly during a service are needed for this position. No prior camera operating experience required.

Media Operator
This group uses presentation software to operate graphic slides, videos, and song lyrics that are overlayed on camera shots during services and special events. The operators participate in rehearsals by checking slide materials and correcting when necessary, and participate in services by stepping through slide material in concert with the worship leader's direction. Operators should be able to update scripts and slides, and be able to focus on their material while at the same time following the worship leader.

Backstage
This group facilitates rehearsals, worship services, and special events by taking care of a wide array of “stage management” and technical tasks such as making sure batteries are in wireless mics, cueing participants to enter stage at specific times, and simple hospitality for the band and worship leaders.

Media Resources Team
This team serves in the Ministry Resource Area following services and is responsible for the duplication and distribution of the CDs of our Sunday messages and other special services.
