Elementary Opportunities

We hope and pray that as you make TPCC your church home that God will lay upon your heart a passion and desire to serve in our Elementary Children’s Ministry!  We have such a dynamic program that I am blessed weekly in worship with the kids, and some days I walk away feeling I have learned as much from them as I was able to teach them!  It truly is a place where you can give of your time and yet still receive so much in return!  Currently we are looking for …

  • Mentors - This position is the “life blood” of our ministry and we can always use more mentors in our Kindergarten through 5th grade classes. The mentor job is a simple but powerful one; a mentor’s job is to be read-up, and prayed-up, and ready to share what God is doing in your own life!  We value relationships and are looking for men and women who will give of their time to come and share the love of Jesus each and every week in a life group. Our mentors meet the kids when they come in and engage in some unstructured play and catch up time from the previous week, we then go worship and learn together with our kids, and finally at the last portion of the morning we meet with the kids in a small life group setting to personally connect with the kids and reinforce the lesson for the day. Because of the importance of building relationships, we ask that mentors consider teaching for an entire school year and then have you take June/July off before signing on for another year. But, we will work with your schedule and whatever you feel led to do or can commit to!
  • Tech People - We have a wonderful sound room with all kinds of buttons and things that blink and make noise … I know you’re impressed with the tech savvy language, aren’t you?  Anyway, we need people who do or who would like to learn so we can make our Sunday morning large group time the best ever!
  • Special Events Helpers - Someone who cannot make the commitment to work on a regular basis with the kids, but who would consider going to a camp or an overnight event, concert, or some other special activity where we would need hands and strong backs to make an event or evening a success!
  • Large Group Leaders - Maybe you have experience in teaching or a special talent in art, sleight of hand, juggling, music, or whatever! We would love to talk to you about the opportunity of using that gift for the kids during large group time!  We would love to have a person who would be interested in rehearsing with a group of students to lead in worship week in and week out.

Let me make it simple … if you love children and love to have fun … you just qualified to work with our kids on Sunday mornings!  We can answer all of your questions about time commitment, curriculum, and expectations when we talk one on one. Give us a shout and let’s talk!
