Women – Sisterhood of faith

Sisterhood of faith
You are a daughter, wife, mother, working professional, and/or volunteer. Juggling these roles and more, yet taking time to explore and nurture your Christian faith, is important to you and your family. Through this ministry, you will discover a vibrant relationship with God through daily prayer, interactive Bible studies, and by getting to know other Christian women.
With your sisters, you will learn how to love and live on God’s Word. There is plenty to explore in programs and services including Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS), Community Bible Study (CBS), One-on-One Discipleship, and weekly Bible studies. There are Coffee Breaks, a young wives’ mentoring program called Ornaments of Grace, Fellowship Scrapbooking, retreats, and other special events.
Ornaments of Grace
Ornaments of Grace is a six-week mentoring program for young married women offered through Traders Point Christian Church. Join other women in the Ornaments of Grace mentoring program, and you’ll be blessed as you grow together in your love for God, your family, and others. More than a Bible study, this weekly class provides for older, more experienced women to mentor younger women through . . .
- Topical Bible studies based on Titus 2:3-5
- Cooking demonstrations and sharing a meal
- Encouragement to be the woman God has called you to be
- On-going e-mailings of new recipes to our graduates
Watch the bulletin for upcoming sessions of Ornaments of Grace.
Beth Moore Simulcast
Beth’s focus will be on the Scripture that God lays on her heart for each individual Living Proof Live event – no two are the same. As she explores the Bible and how it applies to real life, you’ll be amazed by her own experiences as a believer and inspired to magnify and strengthen your own relationship with God. The simulcast is on Saturday, September 18, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Click here to register for the event. Your $15 ticket includes a boxed lunch.
Community Bible Study (CBS)
CBS is an interdenominational ministry that has classes literally all over the world. The purpose of CBS is to make disciples in the community through a caring, in-depth Bible study available to all. The Indianapolis class consists of approximately 120 women from 25 different churches that meet every Thursday morning from 9:15 to 11:15 a.m. to learn from God’s Word together. CBS also offers a wonderful children’s ministry; contact us if you have children you would like to register. There is a $25 registration fee for adults and $10 per child for the year ($20 maximum children’s fee per family), as well as free-will offerings taken weekly to cover curriculum for the adults and crafts for the children. (All fees are waivable if needed.) Check out our class website at www.indianapolisnwcbs.org or the national site at www.communitybiblestudy.org for more information. Contact Mindy Edmiston at or 317.517.7522.
MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers)
MOPS is designed to be a time of fellowship and growth for women in a very comfortable environment. One goal of MOPS is to reach into the community and help women grow through friendships, creative outlets, and instruction to understand that being a wife and mother matters. Children will be loved and cared for with a structured learning time, crafts, songs, and playtime. MOPS meets twice per month on Tuesdays from 9:15 to 11:15 a.m. in The Point from September to May. Download the registration form here or download the informational handouthere. For more information on MOPS, please contact Lori Himelick at 317.299.2724 or or Jill Stockwell at 317.769.4652 or .
MOMSnext
A MOMSnext group is a safe, open, accepting place for all mothers of school-age kids, from kindergarten through high school, to come just as they are, to experience authentic community fellowship, personal growth, practical help, and spiritual hope. MOMSnext will encourage, equip, and develop moms in this next phase of mothering. In the school-age years, sometimes the job of mothering seems bigger than before – school, activities, peers, schedules, homework, and family time. MOMSnext is designed for moms to find time to focus on themselves and get inspiration and practical help from a community of women. MOMSnext will help women grow through friendship, creative outlets, and instruction to understand that being a woman and mother matters. Meetings will be designed around the blessings, challenges and “unknowns” of mothering as well as ministering to school-aged children and families – a place where No Mom is Alone. MOMSnext meets the third Wednesday of each month, August through May, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in The Point at TPCC. Download the registration form here or download the informational handout here. Contact Cheryl Pendleton at 407.4463 or with questions.
One-on-One Discipleship
Just for women ... you and a partner will work through lessons in a study series called Destined. There are four books in the series, but after the first book you can decide if you want to continue on in the program. This is open to any woman in the church. The length of the study will depend on how frequently you and your partner decide to meet. You can start at any time and set your own schedule and meeting place. The duration of each meeting is typically 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Cost is $11 for the study guide. Contact Angie Reid at 873.0996 or for more information.
