Jim Stanley, Executive Pastor

As Executive Pastor, Jim oversees the church's strategic process, day-to-day operations, and the pastoral and support staff on behalf of the Lead Pastor, as well as a number of special projects. His work with staff comes primarily in the form of working with those department leaders who oversee the church's five ministry departments - Age Level, Administrative, Discipleship, Outreach, and Worship. Jim says that he's "having a blast getting to be a part of what God is doing in and through TPCC, day-in-day-out." He finds his role both challenging and fulfilling and believes that he's been made and called to do just what he's doing. But, knowing that God governs it all and that he has literally no control over how God is moving or chooses to move, he adds that "it's all rather humbling."

Best part about his job:

  • Getting to see all of the audacious ideas and vision that God seems to lay before "Brockett the Rocket" actually work and bear fruit; it's like being on the most thrilling roller coaster imaginable...scary ascending the first big drop...knuckle-whitening thrills after that first big plunge...legs like noodles after the first ride...can't wait to go again!
  • Getting to see people grow and lives change
  • The highly talented and diverse team of people I get to work with every day
  • Observing godly, humble leaders in action

Interesting things to know about Jim:

  • Generally have at least two bowl-sized cups of coffee by noon
  • Despite my affection for the Colts and Hoosiers, I am just about as big a Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan
  • My dad owned a hardware store (a la Ritchie Cunningham, for those old enough to remember Happy Days). Ironically, I was known almost exclusively as "Potsie" by my high school and college friends
